Ditch The New Year's Resolutions
Dec 19, 2022The new year always comes with big resolutions, plans, and goals, but the reality is that most of these good intentions lose their power in the first 30 days. So why do we continue doing it? Because predatory marketing is working overtime trying to convince us that there is a perfect solution out there and it will only take 30 days to complete your total transformation.
We know it is a big pile of š© but the temptation is still there. So let's not do it this year!
Instead, I'm going to help you simplify your goal-setting. I am super confident that you'll be successful if you do this.
ā Incorporate strength training into your workouts. This is an absolute must. It doesn't have to be heavy, but it must be consistent. That said, lifting heavy weights has many benefits, especially as we age. You can read more about the benefits of resistance training here.
ā Have fun! This is crucial to any successful goal. If you don't enjoy it, you won't stick with it. So one of my catchphrases is "make working out fun, and the rest will come." And I wholeheartedly believe in it. For more on how to happiness-proof your workout, head here.
ā Spend more time being kind to yourself and practice self-love. Mental fitness is just as important as physical fitness. You can read more about it here.
ā STOP weighing yourself, focusing on weight loss and diets. It doesn't work. Read more about the consequences of dieting here.
